引っ越しや庭じまいなどを機に、伐採予定だった植木を引き取り、新たな持ち主へとつなぐ活動をしている山下力人さん。引き取った植木は、山下さんの有する敷地へ運ばれ管理。次の引き取り希望者は、運搬や植栽にかかる費用を負担するだけで入手が可能で、植木の代金は必要ありません。地球環境問題への取り組みとしては小さな一歩だが、植物があらゆる場所でセカンドライフを送れる環境を作りたいと語る山下さんの思い描く未来とは？ Mr. Rikito Yamashita takes in plants that were scheduled to be cut down when people move or downsize their gardens, and finds new owners for them. The plants are transported to a site owned by Mr. Yamashita and cared for there. The next person who wants to take possession of the plants can do so by just covering the cost of transportation and planting； there is no need to pay for the plants themselves. It’s a small step in addressing global environmental issues, but Mr. Yamashita says he wants to create an environment where plants can live a second life in all kinds of places.
